2GB OCZ RAM upgrade for the Asus Eee pc 900ha !!

Wow, so , rumor is that because of Windows ,Asus and other companies have to limit netbook RAM to 1 GB to get Windows XP for the price that they do .Asus is paying something like 30 bucks per copy of XP which as you all no is no longer available . I think this is to keep this little computer from really hurting other computer market niches running Windows (most of all it seems ) and maybe even new releases of the operating system due those lil' netbooks low cost .

So, I guess hearing this sparked something in me and that was that Windows sucks to me even more and so does its stupid freaking RAM policy !! Screw you windows !!!

One of our first orders of business is to upgrade the RAM and either put XP in a little corner of the harddrive and only use it when I'm forced to ,or even better, boot it in a Virtual Machine and remove its partition on the harddrive leaving my main boot record much safer.Well , all thats left is removing it from the harddrive since Im booting it in all its suckyness in a Virtual Machine,.Anyway , on to business!!!!!1

Installing the RAM !!

Installing the RAM was really freaking easy . To start I should say that I ordered the RAM (OCZ 2048MB pc5400 667mhz SODIMM ) from Tigerdirect.com for the price of $22.99 on sell.Total price to ship was $27.73 . Thats cheap , dang . It came really fast too , within the week .Thanks TigerDirect.com ,oh yeah , and screw you Windows!!

Ok, we have our RAM and all we got ta do is open the cover on the bottom of our Eeepc . Its held in with 4 small screws .I'm pointing at two of the screws in the cover here, the other two are exactly opposite of these.

Removing screws......wow, fun . till you loose of those little #%$@er! Dont lose em!'

Ok, now if you have your Eeepc facing you the same way that I do here then .By the RAM cover farthest away from you you will see A little indention in the case prefect for prying your cover off the case . I had to work at prying the area gently all along that edge as the cover clips in using tabs along the perimeter of the cover .Keep in mind also that there are larger tabs on the cover closest to you that do not come out the same way, so you will have to lift the cover at the point you started prying up at in the first place toward you ,allowing the cover to move within the case yet at its very minimum within the area in the case closest to you till you get to a good point were it will be easy to remove.( got that !!! :) )

OK , now the cover is off . Now just move these tabs that I'm pointing to here outboard at the point closed to you facing just like you were before and the old RAM will pop right out . Install the new RAM by doing the exact opposite ,but this time your RAM should clip right into the grip of these tabs .

Now, go in reverse and put it back together ,

AHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHHA. Ah, ya , and SCREW YOU WINDOWS!!!

HA, sticking to the man .laters.
